Ugggh....

It's getting to that point again… Some hardcore Mac Zealots are freaking out about the newly announced "BootCamp" for Intel Macs, which allows users to boot to multiple OS’s. Some speculation has been going around out of fear for what Apple could be doing. For some of my Mac friends, it was like "hell frozen over."

I was on digg.com last night reading at an article from a Mac fanatic about "Why Boot Camp is the Beginning of the End for Windows." And... this is what we get from the typical Mac zealot who fears what direction Apple is going in. Windows may be archaic but it ain't going anywhere. John C. Dvorak's speculation about apple converting to a "hardware company" is right on track it seems.

Signs of Apple becoming the next "DELL" [oh noes!]:
1. Apple moved to Intel after putting them down for years.
2. iPod Mp3 player drives Apple sales.
3. The Mac platform is no longer locked down thanks to BootCamp.

Some Mac users think that BootCamp will switch a bunch of Windows users over to Apple. That’s... Not the case. Normal computer users have no idea how to dual boot. They would rather purchase a computer with the operating system preinstalled. Apple's gonna have to install both OS's on there to move people over to their platform. And that means... all Mac users [Something like 4% of total PC market] will have a heart attack. When Apple finally ships their computers with OSX and XP side by side, Apple becomes a hardware company. Its still very unclear what the heck is going on, but its going to be interesting to watch.

Also.

What’s with Apple and "Think Different" bullcrap? Apple products don't change that much at all, so "Think Redundant" would fit much better. The iPod hasn’t had any significant design changes. iBook hasn't really changed design since the toilet seat version. Powerbook and Macbook are the same, just different names and an Intel processor. What really got me was how Apple sent out a patent with a webcam embedded at the top of a laptop screen. Different? No. It wasn't innovation on their part. Sony has been doing that since the lat 90's with their Sony PictureBook laptops. Hypocrites.

Something else that’s bothering me: "Windows people who love Apple…"
Look... If you like/praise Apple so much just BUY A MAC ALREADY.

I write this out of frustration from those fanatical Mac users. Kthx.
